Badge - You Star! Enamel Pin
Badge - You Star! Enamel Pin
I’ve designed a brand new HMBHM pin called 'You Star!' It's a gorgeous, rainbowy star, with black outlines, and a glittery border. Designed and hand drawn by me!
This one’s a bit different, as the first 100 people who donate £10 or more to my brand new (personal) Go Fund Me, will get a thank you 'You Star!' HMBHM Pin. After 100 have been given out, they'll be available to buy via the website.
The Go Fund Me has been set up to raise funds to help me get my much-needed hydrotherapy, to help my chronic pain and other disabilities – I’ve put a bit more detail about that below and on my Go Fund Me page.
These will be awesome pins, suitable for anyone and everyone who like things that are bright and colourful. They'll be handmade (not by me), hard enamel, and will last years and years. They'll be sent out on recyclable HMBHM business cards, wrapped in recycled paper, and sent out in recyclable packaging.
A lovely gift to a loved one, yourself, a friend, a colleague, or maybe even a stranger!
You can donate now, but the pins aren't here just yet. They’re in the process of being made, and should be available to be sent out around August (ish).

Thank you for supporting me – You Star!

In the future any leftover badges will be available to buy as standard, for £8 plus p&p.
About Hydrotherapy and Me
I’m a thirty something year old, who has got various disabilities. Sadly these are getting worse year on year, and as a result I now use walking sticks daily, a wheelchair when I need to, and mobility scooters when I’m able to hire one (like at my local National Trust property). I’m in the process of attempting to get an electric wheelchair which will make a world of difference, I so miss being about to go out and about with my son.
Although I’ve been incredibly lucky to get hydrotherapy on the NHS and I’m very grateful, sadly you only get a limited amount (6 sessions) and I’ve now had them all. My physiotherapist has been brilliant and has given me a huge list of exercises to do in the pool, but I need a very warm pool to do them in. Sadly, these very warm hydrotherapy pools are far and few between, but I’m very lucky to have one 12 miles down the road.
My physiotherapist would like me to continue these exercises for the rest of my life if I can, several times a week. As a start, for now I’m looking to try to go one or two times a week, for a year. Each session is £12, so that’s £624 minimum (once a week) I’m looking to raise.
Why is hydrotherapy important?
Helps to reduce pain
Allows me to not be in pain after doing exercises (something that doesn't happen with normal physio).
Allows my muscles to relax
Allows me to do exercise, something I really can’t do anymore.
Doesn’t hurt my left leg which has CRPS (normal pool temperature is agonisingly painful on that leg)
Keep some strength in my body, which is incredibly important for those with my conditions.
You can learn more about my hydrotherapy sessions on my Go Fund Me page.
What conditions do I have? Well, what haven’t I got?! I feel as if this list extends every year. For now, here’s some that hydrotherapy will really help….
Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome
Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome
Hip Dysplasia
Sublaxing and dislocations to joints (hips, knees, ankle, toes, wrists)
Fatigue
Autoimmune condition (hashimotos)
Scoliosis of lower back/pelvis/hip
Sclerosis causing sacroiliac joint dysfunction
Bilateral reduction of hip joint space, with bone spurs
Hip muscle issues
Knee pain
Hip pain
Ankle pain
Leg pain
Osteoporosis
Lipodema
Past broken leg and ankle left, which has caused massive issues
Recent broken ankle right
Just a few things…! Hydrotherapy would be life changing, and I’d love some help to make this possible. Thank you.
